This is an extra credit vase that I made and glazed especially for the fourth of July and to withhold a bouquet of flowers quite possibly. The shape of the vase itself is elongated and has a narrower neck and a stouter bottom and a flared rim. I think the uneven glazing lines of the three colors creates a sort of topsy-turvy feel to the vase itself.
This three set of bowls is my hand and wheel alter. on each of the bowls I broke off the rim of the bowl to create a broken appeal, with the glazing of the horizontal lines on the bowls, creating that effect of length and continuation when the bowls suddenly seem to stop at the broken edge giving it a contrasting feel to the viewer. This is another extra credit mug, while throwing this mug I indented numerous lines on the outside of the mug to give it a different sight to look at besides the actual mug itself. The mug is glazed in matt green but was fired in the gas kiln which is what gave a sort of sheen. I then reglazed it in bright blue turquoise on the handle, giving it that light blue look. Unfortunately the handle on this mug broke when I took it home but was able to repai This is my lidded project which I also decided to make a coordinating plate to match it. The project is glazed in bright, springtime colors, having the dark shade of the purple on the inside create depth, also contrasting the light shade of the blue. The knob on the lid is glazed in purple and also with a splash of the light blue to create that full congruence to the viewer. This collection of three vases is my three project. Not all the vases are the same roundness or lip flare but the purpose is to have them differ a little from one another but to still maintain the same relative shape. They are glazed in blue since the blue creates a sheen which reflects light creating a depth to all of the vases. |
