The inspiration for my series project is death and how we all fear it but can never control it or avoid it.  The Harry Potter story, The Tale of the Three Brothers presented that message perfectly.  The tale speaks of three wizards who encounter death and grants them each a powerful item. Two of the three set out with those items unwisely and meet their untimely death far sooner.  While the third used his for means other than beating death and met death at his natural time.  Showing that either way you go at it, death is one thing in this life that is inevitable.  In doing the construction of the project and choosing the pyramid layout, I decided to do a timeline so as the viewer could understand the full story of each tragic brothers' end.  I do like how they look, the one thing I regret doing is making them so detailed, for the painting process is taking much longer than I thought. 

This past week I received the finished product of  my transformation piece. I like the initial idea that I had of the game controller being a frog, I believe that I could've constructed it better and made it larger and made the game console itself more like a swamp look or something where a frog might reside, or maybe a lillypad. There's always improvements that could be made but I know now for any future projects that I do. In all, I am pleased with the final outcome of the project.

Today I got my wheel projects out from the glaze kiln. I like how they both turned out, especially the blue vase with the handles. I really like the color scheme that I chose and how they work well together.  On the red and yellow one, I probably would've liked to blend the glazes a little more together to create more of that transitioning of colors look but I still really like how it turned out too.  Overall I think I was really

This week I have continually been working on my junk sculpture. I tried to incorporate a scene or at least figures within the piece itself.  I used the golf ball as a football scoring a field goal through the cowboy spur.  And there are numerous faces without the figure. Such as the ruler man or the hose head guy.  Or even the goggles with the make shift eyes inside them.  I haven't decided whether or not I want to spray paint it or not. If I do I would only do a light layer or a cascading color from left to right. I like the look of each individual thing having its own look.

Earlier this week and late last week I finished throwing my two wheel pieces and set them out to dry over the weekend. Early this week I worked on glazing them and just the other day I sent them to go into the glaze kiln. My one wheel piece is a smaller stouter vase shape which I added to it by attaching two handles on either side and creating a carved in design around the handle, making them look like they clung onto the vase.  The other piece is a medium sized vase which I simply carved out the lip into an almost leafy, jagged lip.  I glazed the piece accordingly to its design.  The outside being a darker color and increasingly getting lighter til it hits the inside which is yellow. I am anxious to see how they turn out.

Earlier this week I finished my wrapped piece. I chose to wrap a tea kettle in a black cloth that has sort of a scaly texture to it. The black cloth adds an element of complexity to the piece creating something mysterious almost within the piece. Leaving the viewer to wonder possibly what is inside the kettle, most probably thinking something dark. I do enjoy how this piece turned out.
