This week I managed to make another three piece of bowls where I engraved the rims of the bowls off. (2/3 of the bowl...see left). I also received my lidded project out of the glaze kiln this week and this week received awards for two of the three projects I entered into the art show. :) Hoping to get a creative idea on how to glaze my th

This week I managed to make my lidded project which I am very proud of since the lid is very fitting and is just the right size. I am excited to see both my lidded and a mug that I made come out of the bisque kiln on Monday. I haven't decided yet what I am going to glaze them both but hoping to have some great ideas next week and make some more awesome projects.

This week in ceramics I was quite successful. Having both made a new mug which I will continue to work on into next week, and having received the mug to the left out of the glaze kiln. I really enjoy how the mug came out, the purple glaze is really beautiful and the design really pops on the handle. I also received the second of my two plates out of the glaze kiln and an extra credit bowl. Very much looking forward to making more projects next week before wet clay is done. :(

This week I received my flower vase out of the bisque and glazed it this week. I also managed to make a bowl and a larger mug which will both be coming out of the bisque on Monday. I am excited and looking forward to starting the raku glazing and hopefully I can make a smaller lidded vase this next upcoming week.

This week I managed to create one of the best projects I have made thus far. The wheel alter project
(see left), has the appearance of flower.  For the footing I made a grass type carved base, making the "flower" seem in the grass. I also made my second of my two plates. I also made  a taller vase project. I am hoping to get out my wheel alter out of the bisque on Monday and glazed, as well as the two other projects I made this week.

This week I FINALLY received the last part of my 3-piece out of the glaze kiln and was able to get them graded.  This week I also made a larger vase and I received a mug I had made out of the bisque and was able to glaze that in matt turquoise and hoping that when it comes out the gas kiln on Monday it will have splotchy red areas on it. :) Looking to work on my 2nd plate and my lidded this upcoming week in ceramics.

This week I received one part of my three-piece out of the glaze kiln which I glazed in blue, the other two I footed and put into the bisque (see left). The three set is going to be different sized and shaped vases, remaining all relatively the same. This week I also managed to throw a tall cylinder which I made a lid for and a handle and will be making that into a lidded tall mug.

This week I threw two vases, one wide more towards the top and one more wide towards the bottom, hoping to make them into my three piece. I also received a bowl out of the glaze kiln this week that I glazed the inner with the current cobalt blue and stained blue flowers on the outside, overall I like the outcome of it very much.  I also received a plate out of the bisque which I am not too fond of and haven't gotten around to glazing yet.  Hopefully I can finish my three piece next week before we leave to break!

This week I managed to make a bowl in which I intend on glazing in the current cobalt blue which is somewhat violet.  Hoping to have that finished by this next upcoming week. This week I received three projects out of the glaze kiln, all of which I was very happy of the outcomes. Expecting to make numerous projects next week.

The new semester started on Monday 1.31.11,  I threw for the first time on Thursday.  The mixer clay wasn't too bad but unfortunately I was unsuccessful and didn't succeed in making anything on the wheel that day.  On Friday however I managed to throw a tiny cylinder which I plan to make into a small mug since I already have a handle pulled for it.  I was able to make the  small cylinder as a last resort  considering I was making something much larger when it collapsed and was left with not much clay standing but decided to make the best of it.  Hoping that the bisque kiln was fired today since my two-piece that I made from last semester is in there and I am eager to glaze it and see the finished product.
